WHAT IS A NATURE PRESCHOOL?
The Natural Start Alliance defines a nature preschool as "a school that puts nature at the heart of the program, is based on high quality early childhood education and environmental education practices, and lays a foundation for environmental literacy."
WHAT TIME OF YEAR DOES NOLA NATURE SCHOOL OPERATE?
NOLA Nature School operates throughout the year from September until June and takes a hiatus during the height of the summer heat in July and August.
WHAT AGES DOES NOLA NATURE SCHOOL SERVE?
Our school day program serves children ages 3 and up to 6 who are potty trained. We are always open to making arrangements with families differing circumstances.
Our select Saturday classes are open to children between the ages of 3 (potty trained) and 8.

WHAT CLOTHES AND GEAR WILL MY CHILD NEED?
We walk a lot and are not afraid of tree branches, grasses, puddles, bugs, and mud. Check out our gear list for what your child will need to bring.
WHAT ABOUT WHEN IT RAINS/IS COLD/IS HOT?
When it rains we will have class. When it is cold, we will have class. When it is hot, we will have class (and water and shade).
We generally follow Orleans Parish in determining school closings. However, official communications will be sent out via email and Brightwheel.
